Our Story

Ever wanted to visit Australia?

We brought a little taste of Australia to you.

My husband, Jonathan Blackwell, grew up in Lubbock and we moved ‘back’ in 2015. With a background in fashion design, but few local opportunities, I tried another thing I love; cooking! I heard about this little restaurant opening, and was the first employee hired at La Sirena. It was a dream job, I was being paid to make desserts! Friends started asking me to make cakes for birthdays and other events, and the orders kept growing. We set up a booth at Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market and sold out most Saturdays. Long story short, we had an opportunity to open Nashwell at 1212 Ave K in November 2021, where we could expand the menu.

I learned a while ago, about the health benefits in eating unprocessed real foods and it just makes sense. We use organic and local products where we can, like Revival Mill, bringing us freshly milled flour that we use in our bread rolls. Our pies are made with wild-crafted beef from Canyon Valley Provisions.

We are open from breakfast through until dinner time at 1212 Ave K. And now at The Lobby, 1500 Broadway on week days, or weekends for party bookings.

We look forward to serving you, and sharing a little taste of our home.
